to the EGU website
EGU is a medium-sized church (between 40 and 70 on a Sunday Morning) based in the small Lincolnshire Wolds town of Louth (opposite Morrison's).
We aim in our teaching to uphold the authority of the Bible, and seek to establish the original authors' intent with appropriate context.
We aim in our worship to be Jesus-focussed and relevant to the needs of the culture in which we live whilst being part of the tradition from which we have come.
The main Sunday service starts at 10.30am, lasts about an hour and features modern and traditional elements. Whilst we are in between ministers members of the Church lead and preach, with occasional guest speakers from associated organisations. A communion service is usually held every 3rd Sunday.
Full service information can be found here.
Prayer meetings/Bible studies
Bible studies are currently held on Monday evenings and Thursday mornings at various places. Please email for further information.
We have a little needlecraft group that meets on a Monday afternoon from 2pm. Some attendees bring their own craft project, be it knitting, tapestry, sewing etc, whilst others knit strips which are later sewn into blankets for the homeless.
Others make little vests and hats for babies and send them via the Salvation Army who in turn send them wherever there is a need. Recently we made several hundred Christmas Angels that were left round Louth at Christmas. All - male or female - are welcome to join us for a chat and a cup of tea.
Church youth to meet on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of each month at 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Through activities such as pool, table tennis or board games, and imbibing hot chocolate and munching on snacks, we're encouraging friendships to grow and discussing where we are in our faith journey.
Of course, the Youth Group isn't just open to children of church members; any young person age 12 or above is welcome. Please email for details.
It has thus far been amazing and a privilege to see our young people's faith re- ignite again.
Full information on Church youth activities can be found here.
